CPD supports your career by providing you with the knowledge and skills that you need to excel in your role, as well as enhance your employability for the future.
The amount of CPD you need to do will depend on which CPD route you follow. You can find out about each route - and which you should follow - in our CPD routes section.
What do you need to do?
Each year, you should identify areas for development and engage in continuing professional development (CPD) to meet your specific needs and ensure that your skills and knowledge are kept up to date.
Your CPD declaration is a mandatory part of your annual renewal and you must confirm that you’ve met your CPD requirements by 1 January every year. If you've not met your requirements, or do not submit a CPD declaration, your membership may be at risk.
Once you’ve met your CPD requirement for the year, you should submit your CPD declaration via your myACCA account. As we have recently changed our myACCA portal, please delete any links or bookmarked pages you may have saved from the previous portal.
If you've not been able to meet your CPD requirement or you're having problems completing your CPD, have a look at our help with your CPD declaration pages for more advice.
You should keep the records of your CPD activities for 3 years* just in case it's needed for a CPD review.
* Members who are Irish Statutory Auditors and individuals who are partners or directors or agents of a firm holding an ACCA Irish auditing certificate must keep a record of their CPD activities for six years. Registered tax practitioners in South Africa must keep a record of their CPD activities for five years.
Further guidance on how to record your activities can be found within the keeping your CPD evidence section.
