Upcoming system downtime
MyACCA will be unavailable from 17 - 29 April as we carry out essential improvements to our systems – including an updated MyACCA portal launching on 29 April 2026.
In the lead up to the systems downtime, some services will be unavailable.
You can reach us through your MyACCA account until 16 April 2026. We'll try to come back to you as soon as possible, however, it may be after our systems are back online on 29 April 2026. Or you can contact us once our systems are back on 29 April 2026.
For urgent queries you can contact our Customer Services team by phone, however, teams will be unable to action requests or provide personalised advice until our systems are back online.
Please plan ahead and find out what this means for you.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is essential for ACCA members to maintain and enhance their professional competence in today’s dynamic business environment. ACCA provides a wide range of support and resources to help members meet their annual CPD requirements.
Verifiable CPD criteria
To count towards your 21 units of verifiable CPD, your learning must meet the following criteria:
Relevance: Was the learning relevant to your career?
Application: Can you explain how it was applied to your role?
Evidence: Can you provide verifiable evidence that you undertook it?
Examples of verifiable CPD activities:
Online learning: webinars, online courses, podcasts
On-the-job learning: learning from work (e.g. new system training), coaching or mentoring
Formal education: gaining another qualification (e.g. MBA, bachelor’s degree)
Professional engagement: panels or discussion groups, networking
Reading and research: technical articles or magazines, research
We’ve got a comprehensive range of free and fee-based webinars and courses that will help you complete your CPD requirement within our CPD and events finder.
Annual CPD declaration
All ACCA members must complete CPD annually and submit a declaration via the Professional Development section of their MyACCA account.
Lifetime members are exempt from CPD and the annual declaration.
If you’re a new member, your CPD starts on 1 January of the year after you join ACCA. (For example, if admitted in 2025, CPD starts in 2026, with the declaration due by 1 January 2027).
If you are unable to meet your CPD requirement, you may apply for a CPD waiver through the Professional Development area of your MyACCA account.
Carrying forward CPD units
If you complete more than 40 units in a year, you may carry forward up to 21 additional verifiable units to the next CPD year. However:
Non-verifiable units cannot be carried forward.
No units can be carried into your first CPD year.
You should only carry forward units in exceptional cases, such as when you’re doing intensive study like an MBA.
Evidence must be provided if selected for a CPD review.
CPD via other professional bodies
If you are a member of another professional accountancy body, you may follow their CPD programme if:
You’re a full member of that body.
The body is a member of IFAC.
Their CPD policy complies with IFAC’s International Education Standard 7 (IES 7).
You can select this route in your annual CPD declaration.
Special requirements for practising members
Practising members, including Responsible Individuals, may have different CPD requirements. Please refer to the dedicated pages for CPD for practising members guidance tailored to your circumstances.
