We don’t offer the option to freeze your account, but you can resign your membership and/or fellowship if you choose to leave. The qualification you’ve worked hard to achieve is highly respected and reflects professionalism and ethical commitment. Many members and fellows keep their status even if they move away from accountancy and finance.
After resignation you’ll no longer be able to access or benefit from the following:
Access to your MyACCA account and personalised support
Over 100 hours of free CPD resources annually
Opportunities to participate in global ACCA professional communities
Fast-track routes to further education programmes
Recommendations for roles via ACCA Careers job board
Recognition and benefits linked to professional status
Participation in policy development and insight reports
Employment support including soft skills training and member events
Member-specific pathway impact
After 5 years of membership, you can become a Fellow (FCCA). If membership is removed and later reactivated, your membership duration resets.

Fellows: additional information
ACCA membership is a symbol of professional proficiency and ethics. Many fellows maintain their status even if they are no longer active in the profession. We highly value your fellowship status; you’re an important role model for peers.
Still wish to resign your membership?
We strongly encourage you to reconsider before deciding to resign. If you’ve already decided, please complete a resignation application. Once confirmed, you will no longer hold member or FCCA status and cannot identify yourself as an ACCA member or fellow.
If you are connected to an organisation at the time of your resignation, please remove the connection to ensure you no longer appear in the organisation’s portal, reports, or billing arrangement. This can be done before or after your resignation has been processed.
